2 loyal CPF members die

Dedicated patrollers lose their lives during December holidays.

Death has claimed the lives of two loyal patrollers serving under the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Henry Kolobe, who resided in Bramfischerville, was killed on December 16. According to police reports his death occurred following a heated altercation between him and one of his tenants who had failed to pay rent.

According to CPF chairman, Kenneth Goniwe Ka Mgobozi, police believe that the deceased was murdered and then placed in a bin and his body dumped.

Ka Mgobozi said Kolobe’s corpse was discovered on December 20 following an investigation by the Crime Investigation Department.

He was buried on December 28 in Dobsonville.

Police have made arrests in connection with Kolobe’s murder.

The other patroller, Zacharia Tlhakanye died of natural causes on December 25.

Ka Mgobozi said: “He asked the CPF executive committee to be excused due to his illness. While away, we prayed that he gets better.”

“You see, these people were devoted to their jobs and replacing them will not be an easy task,” he said.

Tlhakanye was laid to rest in Mafikeng.
