Three arrests for Nancefield hostel shooting

Moroka SAPS have arrested three suspects in connection with shootings that happened in Nancefield hostel.

Yesterday, three men were arrested for attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

They were found hiding at Orange Farm South of Johannesburg in the wee hours of the morning.

The men are suspects for their involvement in a shooting that happened in Nancefield hostel in Soweto with one of the police officers stationed at Booysens police station.

Constable John Serala, communication officer at Moroka SAPS said, “We say thanks to the community members with the information given to investigating officers that have led to the arrest of these outstanding suspects; for priority crimes and also recovering of this firearm for the armed robberies and hijackings and the attempted murder.”

The suspects aged between the ages of 27 and 29 were in possession of one 9mm pistol with 10 rounds, one revolver with two rounds, a toy gun and a knife when they were arrested.
