Meadowlands police management together with the Induna’s from Dube and Mzimhlophe Hostels had a meeting on separate occasions to discuss the issue of crime in both areas.
According to Meadowlands police spokesperson Octavia Thebe the purpose of the meeting was to form a partnership in order to combat crime especially murder and assist each other on arresting criminals.
Thebe said: “As the police we have the problem of murder cases occurring at both the hostels every week: “People are killing each other and escape. “The other problem is that witnesses do not come forward and this results in the suspects being released.
Thebe said that the Induna’s also raised their concerns and the meeting was positive.
