Biker killed after rear-ending car
The accident happened on N1 Rand Show road
A man was killed last night after he rear-ended a light motor vehicle on the N1 north-bound the near the Rand Show Road in Johannesburg.
Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg South branch arrived on the scene and found the biker and his wrecked vehicle in the yellow lane of the highway.
Debris from the motorcycle was spread at least 100 metres across the scene.
Russel Meiring ER24 spokesperson said paramedics found that the man had sustained numerous, fatal injuries. A bystander said she saw the biker was speeding and thought that he was going to ride into a wall or robot.
“Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries.
Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on the scene,” said Meiring.
The occupants of the light motor vehicle were assessed by another service on scene.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
