A man has been arrested for possession of drugs and explosives this morning in Protea North.
Police officers were patrolling the area when they received a tip-off about a perpetrator selling drugs at Protea Point. They noticed an unmarked vehicle and saw the perpetrator exchanging money with several people.
The perpetrator was then followed to his house and the officers entered the house. On searching it a plastic bag containing drugs was found. The yard was searched as well and a stun grenade was found hidden in the rocks.
The perpetrator was arrested on the spot and charged with the abovementioned crimes.
The 35-year-old will appear at Protea Magistrate’s Court soon.
