Sheldon Morgan nominated for Community Developer of the Year

Second time for Morgan in SA Men of the Year awards.

Sheldon Morgan is a teacher at Westbury Senior Secondary School and the founder of SIM (Service in Motion).

He is currently the reigning SA Men of the Year in the education category for 2015.

Due to the excellent work he has done in the Westside community, he was nominated again this year but in a different category: Community Development.

During the course of 2016, as part of SIM’s initiative, he played a pivotal role in various community projects, including his much-acclaimed feeding scheme projects, reaching out to a number of communities to join hands with feeding teams.

During the past winter, with the assistance of various teams and volunteers from his and other communities, they fed hundreds of underprivileged and under nourished children and adults.

Upon this achievement, he said he is grateful and he thanks the Lord for his grace.

“I enjoy what I do and I love what I do.

“The kids are what keep me alive and it is an honour to represent the community once again,” said Morgan.

Morgan coordinated all these feeding scheme events on Saturday mornings and about 300 hungry people are fed regularly.
