Body of unknown female found in river
According to the police, it looks as if the body was left in the river for quite a long time as it has decomposed.
A body of an unknown female between the ages 50 and 60 years was found inside the reeds in the river next to Dorothy Nyembe road in Meadowlands.
The spokesperson for Soweto East Cluster captain Hitler Ngwenya said that the police were summoned to the scene of the crime and it looks as if the body was left in the river for quite a long time as it has decomposed.
An inquest docket was opened with the Meadowlands police for further investigation.
Meadowlands police spokesperson Octavia Thebe said that the family members of the deceased have not yet been found.
The police are appealing to anybody with valuable information about this ordeal to please come forward so that justice could be served.
