Emadwaleni High hosts a fund-raise event

‘Sometimes all you need to do is stand up and do it yourself’

Emadwaleni Secondary School held an aerobic marathon to fundraise for the school at an event hosted at Mzimhlophe Hall (next to BP Garage).

According to fitness trainer, Mduduzi Mtshali – initially, a meeting was held between the school management and the School Governing Body to discuss ways of raising funds for the school.

Mtshali said: “We first had to research and decide what to do to fundraise. We wanted to organise an event for people to also enjoy themselves.”

The school sold tickets at R10 each.

He said the purpose of fundraising was basically to enable the school to perform certain things that require money – things that the department doesn’t have a budget for at times.

“Grade 12 pupils usually attend extra classes and this fund will help us if ever we decide to hire a tutor,” he said.

Those that attended the event include parents of pupils at the school and people from various gyms known to Mtshali.

He concluded by saying that the aim again was to promote a healthy lifestyle.IMG-20160919-WA0002
