Rain and icy weather wrecked the Eldo’s Arts and Jazz Festival

The annual Eldos Arts and Jazz Festival was washed out by incessant rain and icy weather on Sunday.

Would-be revellers opted to stay indoors and not brave the cold weather by attending the festival.

International artists scheduled to perform at the event had cancelled as the stage was sodden with rain.

Vendors at the event lost a fortune in potential revenue, with many electing to donate leftover food to charitable organisations.

Not all was lost, though, as Member of the Mayoral Committee for community development Nonhlanhla Sifumba attended the event and shared her love for the artform in these video clips.

Event organiser, Netesha Armien, added her voice and expressed what the love of jazz entails and it’sInfluence on other genres.

A clearly disappointed Armien said, “We delivered and an act beyond our control is what caused the low turn-out”.
