Emshukantambo Secondary School in Pimville Zone 1 is in the spotlight following an incident where a teacher was assaulted by pupils.
There’s a video which has been circulating in social media platforms, predominantly on Facebook.
It shows three pupils (boys) manhandling a teacher who wore a black suit.
The video has been viewed more than 116 000 times and shared over 2000 times.
According to the Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Oupa Bodibe, four pupils have been suspended following this activity.
Bodibe said they’ll be a disciplinary hearing to determine the cause of such unwanted conduct by pupils in the learning environment.
“We are going to get to the bottom of this problem but as for now, we do not know why this happened,” he said.
He confirmed that the video was filmed last week.
