Bull Horns Panic Button to tackle the issue of crime

CPF encourage the Bull Horns Panic Button app, improving your security free of charge.

A new innovation called the ‘Bull Horns Panic Button’ was introduced to liquor traders at a meeting held at the Meadowlands police station.

The panic button was introduced as an initiative that will assist the Meadowlands Police Forum (CPF) as an alternative patrolling system.

HOD of the greater CPF Themba Kubheka said that they have come up with an idea that will ensure the safety of the community in a free and reliable way.

In response to the pleas for alternative patrolling Kubheka said: “The police and the CPF will not have enough funds to run alternative patrolling.

“Alternative patrolling is not a police initiative the police are just endorsing the initiative hence we need money to fund the courses for the youth desk and the CPF.

“The police will back us up and the patrollers will be acting as the security system.

Kubheka said that this initiative is expensive and they are trying to keep the cost low.

“We will start with one vehicle per sector until it is stabilised then we can get more vehicles,” he said.

“One thing people should not forget is that they are the first point of their safety hence we’ve come up with the panic button idea to keep cost low.

“The panic button does not need wiring services, monthly fees or connection fees,” he said.

The bull horns panic button app is an app that turns your phone into a panic button that will instantly, silently call and SMS your emergency contacts.

The app allows the user to instantly and silently alert their neighbours, friends, or the police with one touch.

Managing director of app developer studio Rob Maclean said: “The panic button has the opportunity to transform the fight against crime because it helps communities share intelligence and work together, as well as getting help to them quickly in an emergency.”

Maclean said that the app is free and only requires an android or apple phone.
