Taxi and bus collide injuring 15 in Florida

Numerous occupants from the taxi and the bus were found lying around the two vehicles.

15 people have been injured this morning, two of them critically, after a bus and taxi collided at the Main Reef and Westlake Road intersection in Florida.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found a bus lying on its side while a taxi was found upright in the middle of the road.

Russel Meiring ER24 spokesperson said numerous occupants from the taxi and the bus were found lying around the two vehicles.

“On further assessment, paramedics found that 15 people had been injured, two of them critically.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured women with advanced life support interventions,” said Meiring.

One of the critically injured patients was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a hospital in Pretoria while the remaining patients were transported by ambulance to various hospitals in the area.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
