Same time treatment for those who test HIV negative

As of September 1 those who test positive for HIV/AIDS will receive immediate treatment.

The 90,90 rule, that is the determined treatment target aimed at ending the AIDS epidemic by the year 2020, has officially come to effect as of September 1. This new procedure allows patients who are HIV negative to receive treatment immediately after discovering their statuses.

The Health for Men (H4M) is an MSM-friendly clinic meaning it caters for men who’ve had sexual relations with other men, it has centres of excellence in Zola and Chiawelo and had come to Diepkloof for HIV/aids testing and counselling.

Jabulile Msibi of H4M was part of the team that went to Diepkloof to distribute condoms and offer counselling and testing in Diepkloof, Msibi said, “The new system is determined to combat and surprises the virus.”

Msibi said people must know the fact that HIV/Aids is manageable. Jacob Seboni recently had his HIV/Aids status test, he said, “We must practice the one partner principle and condomise.”

Msibi said the 90 90 rule will help decrease the number of deaths caused by HIV/aids
