Students attacked during break

Students fear being attacked after school

Students on their break at Eldorado Park Secondary were taunted by a shirtless man.

The man hurled abuse at the students while they were enjoying their break. This brazen
attack occurred during school hours while students were on the school premises.

The school is surrounded by palisade fencing and the aggressor hurled rocks at the
students who scattered in all directions to avoid being hit.

This in the face of alarmingly increasing attacks on students who say that they face constant
harassment from unemployed men within the community who rob and attack them after school.

The man shouted obscenities at the students and threatened them with physical harm.

He was heard saying, “I’ll wait for you after school and chop off your heads with my panga.”

Many students fear being robbed or attacked by these elements within the community,
and exit the school in groups as lone students are more likely to be attacked.

When passing residents confronted the attacker, he fled towards an unknown destination
along the Main road.

The reason for the attack remains unclear, but students speculate that it was fuelled by
drug addiction.
