College launches new programmes at Bara rank

New college courses launched to suit any one.

The South West Gauteng Technical and Vocational Education and Training College (SWGTVETC) which is supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) launched and introduced its programmes and visited Baragwanath Taxi Rank to inform the community.
People were given goodie packs with application forms inside and welcomed to register for various courses offered at any of the three colleges in Soweto on August 19. The Minister of Higher Education and Training (HET) Blade Nzimande was expected to arrive but cancelled due to having to attend a Fees Must Fall meeting, according to Vuyokazi Mafilika of DHET.
Dan Nkosi the Principal of SWGC in Molapo said, “The TVET system is working and will give the youth of our country a better chance in taking part in the economy and move away from crime.”
Baragwanath and SWGTVETC were chosen as the locations and drivers of the campaign, quality assurer Wandi Magagula said, “The college is catching on because we do find good students.”
Joe Motlogelwa of the Department of Treasury (DOT) said, “We are proud of the colleges and the fact that they produce quality students.”
The college offers education and training programmes like engineering, business and utility studies even via the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NFSAS.)
