Taxi Violence leads to Three shootings on one street, Lawley

Two taxi drivers have been murdered and one injured after what is suspected to be an act of taxi violence.

There’s been taxi violence reported at Lawley extension two in Ennerdale this morning.

Constable Vincent Mashiteng, communication officer at the Protea Glen Police station said that two murder cases and one case of an attempted murder have been opened.

At about 6am this morning, on Simelane Street, a blue Opel Corsa vehicle with four occupants fired several shots at a taxi, where the driver sustained minor injuries.

At a second incident, the same alleged perpetrators fired shots at a red Toyota Hi ace taxi and the driver died on scene.

Another incident on the same street occurred where the driver of a taxi was fixing his taxi when two unknown men shot at him and resulted in his death on scene.

No arrests have been made as yet and an investigation is currently underway.
