Women’s Day was quite a sour one in Westbury with shootings still continuing in the Westside area.
Residents are now asking if the police are doing anything about it or are they just saying that they are investigating the incidents.
Yesterday near Hay Avenue a couple was shot near a liquor store, both ending up in the hospital.
According to a friend of the couple who does not want to be named, they were not involved in any drug syndicates.
“They were shot innocently and it is very upsetting because the people that are involved in these “drug wars” are not getting caught,” he said.
The shooting brings the tally to four different incidents in three weeks just in Westbury.
Sophiatown Police Station was unavailable for comment when contacted.
