Proverb performed at Slaghuis

Proverb will always perform at Slaghuis regardless of his success.

On Sunday July 31 Tebogo Thekiso aka Proverb performed live at the Slaghuis Studios in Diepkloof.
Best known for his rap and broadcasting career, Thekiso said he would always perform at Slaghuis regardless his success, because he’s going there for the past eight years.
Slaghuis acts as a platform for upcoming rap artists to showcase their talents; the stage has produced artists like Pro Kid and Pitch Black Afro.
Sandile Nkomo aka Taq-illa performed at the event and said, “Even though I perform here for free, it fulfills me, because it is like giving back.”
Nkomo has made songs with international artists like “Azitiz” from New Orleans and performed at Back to the City.

He said, “Slaghuis plays a big role in launching people’s careers.”

Tshepiso Rametse, aka SOE, came from Diepsloot to perform and showcase his talent in Diepkloof at Slaghuis because that’s where he got the exposure and discovered his love for hip hop.

Rametse said, “Slaghuis has helped keep us out of the streets and away from crime.”
The Slaghuis event happens every last Sunday of the month.
