CGA welcomes women’s month with seminar

Women who are in sport will be honoured with a seminar that discusses issues around their involvement in sport.

As Women’s month approaches Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will be hosting its annual Women in Sports Seminar on August 6.
It will be hosted at the Protea Hotel (Parktonian) in Braamfontein, and the purpose is to bring women who are in the sports industry together, be it administratively or in the field to share experiences and how to improve the participation of women in sports.
“This will be the second time CGA hosts this seminar and based on last year’s response, more of these events are needed to empower and encourage women involvement in the sports industry,” said CGA public relations officer Mbalenhle Ngema.
Thandy Matlaila the program will tackle day to day challenges faced by women in sport; topics of the day are as follows:
> Performance of women in sports (Administration and on the field)
> Life skills (How to balance work, family, sports, etc.)
> Women Health Matters
> Important of Education in sports
> Women in sports building themselves as brands
> Opportunities in sports
“It’s about women from different walks of sporting life sharing their experiences and how to grow themselves in an industry that is traditionally known to be dominantly a male’s industry,” said Ngema.
