Thulsie Twins case postponed to Thursday

Lawyer submits affidavits stating “unlawfulness” of search and arrests that were done.

At the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Tuesday, the magistrate said Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee Thulsie who are facing terror-related charges could not use “wrongful arrest” as “exceptional circumstances” in their bail application.

The twins were applying for formal yesterday but the case has now been postponed to Thursday for further application.

The twins, who have been arrested two weeks ago in Newclare on suspicion of plotting to detonate bombs at the US Mission in South Africa and Jewish establishments in the country, say they were wrongly arrested and for that reason, should be granted bail.

The bail application of alleged terrorist twins Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee Thulsie was delayed on Tuesday due to technical difficulties in printing the twins’ affidavits.

As written from their affidavit at point number 19, that the search of their premises at 67A Rahima Moosa Street is declared invalid and set aside.

Furthermore, it read that “the goods and material that were seized be returned to them within five days”.

Lastly that the search was unlawful and should be declared invalid and set aside.

They will appear on Thursday at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court for a further bail hearing.
