Police winning the fight against crime

Police ready to fight crime.

July seemed to be a great month for Moroka Police Station officers and that can be proven by their arrests success for this month.
Since the first week of July, the detective convicted 32 males and females and according to the station communications officer John Serala, this has motivated them to work even harder. Possession of dagga/drugs =2 years.

“There is motivation in our offices after the statistics for July were released and our officers have promised to work even harder and make sure that they offer no room for criminals to operate their illegal activities in all the areas they are policing.”

Serala gave the information about some of the arrests and their sentencing.
“All those arrested for Housebreaking and theft were given five years, Business burglary five years too.
“Then four who were arrested for Armed robbery got seven years and two got  12years respectively and then there were two males who were arrested for Murder and armed robbery and they were sentenced to life imprisonment plus 15years running concurrently.”

Serala said: “We thank the residents for coming forward with the help that led to the arrest of this criminals and securing the convictions.
” We also remember the detectives that conducted a proper investigation to make sure that these perpetrators remain behind bars.”
