The Democratic Alliance from ward 35 conducted a cleaning campaign with Piti Tup and the department of Environmental Affairs.
The joint venture was to bring awareness to the community on the importance of keeping the environment clean and to highlight the need for consistent service delivery.
The cleaning campaign included clearing of waste at an illegal dumping site and at an illegal dumping site outside the school.
“Our only hope right now is that the places we cleaned will remain this way and will be well-taken care off by the community,” said Thabang Setle, DA ward candidate at ward 35.
