Fathers appreciated on their day

Fathers urged to take responsibility and be present in children’s lives.

Every third Sunday of June, Father’s Day is celebrated.

Buka foundations had a Father’s Day celebration at Uncle Tom’s Hall in Orlando West.

Fathers were appreciated for their role in the society and reminded of their responsibilities.

Children from Buka foundations opened with a killer performance declaring and demonstrating the love they have for all the fathers and father figures.

Angie Daile, gave a testimony on how her late father was good to her though he abused her mother.

She said that with the love her father gave her, she will make sure that she raises the best fathers.

Magic Hlatshwayo emphasized on how fathers should take care of their responsibilities and not neglect their children.

“We as men should be responsible and take care of our children.

“I had a kid that I had forgotten about until a few years back when I went back and kneeled down to her and the mother so I could be a father to my child and be present in her life.

“It is never late to make things right, let us go back and always be part of our children’s lives,” said Hlatshwayo.

Father’s Day is celebrated to commemorate all males who play a fatherly role.

People celebrate it differently, others even go to an extent of visiting their father’s graves if they are deceased.

Pule Hlahane, a father who was also at the celebration said that he is delighted for this day because it feels good to be appreciated as a father because they are also just as important as mothers.
