Miss Soweto donates to Entandweni Primary

Investing in education and beauty for youth in Soweto.

Miss Soweto 2015 Buhle Xulu donated to Grade Four pupils at Entandweni Primary School in Zondi.

The donations formed part of the Miss Soweto’s giving back campaing where she ploughs back to the community that has raised her.

This also forms a build up towards celebrating 40 years of the existence of the Miss Soweto Pageant and another giving back initiative scheduled for June.

The theme behind the initiative is to plough back in order to create an awareness that one can never forget about education when you think about beauty, thus, to fuse beauty with the role of education.

“I could have ploughed back through business, through the arts, but I specifically chose education because it is essentially the only key to the future of this country.

“And the reason why I picked stationary is because I know how easy it is to neglect but it also plays a major part in a child’s education.

“Imagine coming to school with full school uniform, a full stomach with lunch with a bag full of neat covered books, but when you get in class you cant right because you’ve lost your stationary.

“I wanted to close that gap and there are many other gaps to be closed, so we looking for more sponsorship and looking to give back even more,” said Xulu

“As a school, we are honoured to have such a donation and we will make sure that they keep their stationary safe.

“We wish they do this for all other schools.
