EFF ward 13 together with ward 135 to help residents with housing issues

EFF rescued its members over properties.

Following their slogan “Asijiki” which simply means, No turning back and not Giving up, EFF Ward 13 branch in Protea Glen has already identified approximately 200 houses in Protea Glen which has been sold and bought illegally.

The branch with the assistance of its other members from ward 135 has already embarked on a campaign to put back residents who were illegally evicted from their houses.

councillor candidate for Protea Glen Ward 13 said that they are taking over Protea and will make sure that people enjoy their lives.

“Our main priority is to make sure that our people are safe and enjoying their rights to better living condition and that their properties are safe from these illegal agents targeting them.

“It was surprising to find out that a man can own approximately 30 houses alone and now that we have the information we wanted, we will make sure that we expose such syndicates and stop their tricks.”

Maimane said that nothing will stop them from working hard for their communities and they will make sure that residents are not intimidated at all.

Ward 135 chairperson and councillor candidate Phumla Nhlapho said that they are happy to be part of such a great and historical moment for their organisation.

“There was no way we could have missed and not respond to the invitation we received from our members in ward 13, we went and supported them and made sure that all is well and we helped residents to move back into their houses.

“We thank the Ward 13 members for such courage and interests they have shown to offer residents assistance in any issue they have that is affecting them.”
