A man who works at a Spaza Shop in Coronationville was shot dead just before midday today.
The shop is located in Pinelands Street and according to the residents, they never troubled anyone in the area.
An eyewitness who does not want to be named said that an unknown man came into the shop attempting to rob the shop.
“He went into the shop and was trying to rob the one serving.
“Because his attempt did not succeed he then shot him point blank in the shop,” he said.
This shooting incident follows three months of ongoing shoot outs in the Westside area that saw three killed and a few still in hospital.
Sophiatown Police officials and Forensic Pathology Services were on the scene.
