Shoot outs in Westbury continue

Residents claim the shooting is part of previous shoot outs in the area

A seventeen-year-old boy is in a critical condition after he was shot multiple times in Westbury yesterday.

The incident occurred in the near alley way near Tamboekie Court.

The exact cause of the shooting remains a subject for police investigation.

Paramedics managed to stabilise the critically wounded boy on scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

This is the second shooting incident that has occurred in the past two days in Westbury.

An eye witness who does not want to be named said he just saw three guys pulling up and they started shooting.

“We were sitting on the corner and we just saw these guys shooting.

“We got such a fright that we just ran off without even looking back telling the little ones in the street to go into their houses,” he said.

Sophiatown Police Colonel Marilyn Bunce said it is getting worse.

“Anyone with information should come forth to the police station because it will get worse if perpetrators are not arrested,” said Bunce.

Police are still investigating both cases.

This incident happened in the afternoon at about 4pm.
