Students protest over tablets

Teaching brought to a halt over availability of tablets.

Students at the South Western Gauteng College, George Tabor campus, Dube stopped teaching this morning during a protest.

The students are protesting for the delivery of tablets.

School management is still in a meeting and students are denied access to the campus.

“We were told that there is no school because they are protesting for tablets. From the beginning of the year, we could buy tablets at the school for R 500 but now we are told that we are meant to get them for free,” said Samkelo Buthelezi, a student at the school.

School management is yet to speak to students.
