JMPD officer shot in head
A woman was also killed while another witness is in a critical condition.
Another woman who witnessed the killing was also shot and killed while a man in a taxi was critically injured.
According to JMPD spokesperson Edna Mamonyane the officer went to visit his mother before reporting for duty.
“When he was in his car, five men approached him and shot him in his head.
“The suspects saw a lady who witnessed the crime and also shot her, she died,” Mamonyane said.
She said the motive could be a robbery because the officer’s service pistol was stolen.
Mamonyane calls on witnesses to come forward to assist in apprehending the gunmen.
“Our officers do their best to serve and protect communities.
“They are also a child, husband, wife, father and mother to somebody,” Mamonyane said.
