Little Rose gets a facelift

Sage Foundation donates a library to community centre.

Sage volunteers spent their day in Kliptown with children at Little Rose Centre on Tuesday.

This was part of the company’s outreach programme where they donated two containers to the centre.

The donated containers will be used as a library which will help children from impoverished backgrounds in the area.

Sage Foundation volunteers got their hands dirty painting and renovating the centre which takes care of more than a 100 children.

Little Rose has been around for more than 20 years helping disadvantaged children and the community at large.

Stephen Kelly,

Stephen Kelly, CEO of Sage spent the day in South Africa handing over the library and help with the painting and overall progress of the day.

He said, “This country is a very strategic market for us where we have build a strong company. So it’s only right to give back to the community and help the underprivileged.”

Ivan Epstein, President of Sage International and Chairman of the Sage Foundation agreed with Kelly and said that they need to lead by example as business people.

“It is importantly for us as businesspeople to lead by example and show others the importance of giving back and helping the underprivileged in our communities,” he said.

Little Rose founder Ouma Majola expressed her gratitude to the Sage Foundation.

“I’m very happy and thankful to Sage for what they have done for our community. It’s good that our children will no longer have to travel long distances for a library and I hope this will contribute to the education of our children,” she said.

Little Rose was founded by Majola in 1993 and it was operating in an old double decker bus.
