Police conduct school search

No major incidences during school search.

Police officers from the Dobsonville Police Station with patrollers and the Youth Desk conducted a school search as part of creating a safer environment for pupils.

The school search was done at Thulani High in Doornkop and Siyabusa Secondary School in Slovoville.

Communications officer Mzwakhe Xazi said the purpose of this drive is to ensure learning environment is safe.

Secondly, to encourage pupils to report any unwanted activities to teachers at their school, drugs smuggling, possession of knives, obscene CDs, cigarettes and others.

“We didn’t find anything during our search at Thulani but went on to discover an abandoned knife at Siyabusa Secondary School,” said Xazi.

Xazi said the school search programme will continue and that schools will get surprise visits.
