Residents petition for no bail

Residents of Klipspruit West and Eldorado Park with the Local Drug Action Committee have drawn up a petition for no bail for the man who allegedly murdered his girlfriend and mother of his two children.

Loren Dreyer was found dead in the house where her boyfriend stays with a necklace and bruises around her neck.

The man was taken into custody on New Year’s Day and made his first appearance in court last Monday.

The petition, which is addressed to the National Prosecuting Authority and the Lenasia Magistrate Court, states “no bail to alleged offenders for such heinous crimes will serve as a deterrent and will send a strong message to other would be offenders within our communities”.

LDAC is hoping to get 1000 signatures.
