Countdown to the Miss Soweto 2015 finals

The Top 20 has been selected and the race to find Soweto’s fines queen is on.

The top 20 finalists for the Miss Soweto 2015 beauty pageant have been selected. One of them will be crowned Miss Soweto at a glamorous event to be held at the Soweto Theatre on December 5.

The top 20 was selected at the final round of auditions held at Maponya Mall early this month.

The countdown to the final has begun and all the finalists are ready to showcase their stuff on the runway. Each day leading to the finals will be dedicated to one of the girls in the running to be queen of Africa’s biggest township.

Nokukhanya “Annkay” Kunene @MsSoweto_AnnKay

From Emndeni comes Nokukhanya Kunene an undergraduate at the University of Johannesburg.

The 20-year-old linguistics student is passionate about soccer and language. Thanks to her passion for language, she is fluent in four languages (IsiZulu, English, Sesotho and Setswana).

Apart from planning on being a speech therapist after graduating, Kunene is planning to further her studies in sports management.

Her main focus if she wins Miss Soweto will be literacy. She wants to contribute in the education of underprivileged children and improving their lives.

Next year she is planning to register an NPO that will work with disadvantaged children in general.
