Family loses all in fire

EFF and Jozi@Work come to the rescue.

EFF and Jozi@Work have met to help the family whose house burned down.

The house in Protea Glen Extension Four burned down after a six-year old girl was playing with matches.

Anna Molefe, owner of the house said she was watching TV in the lounge when her grandchild started a fire in the bedroom.

” I don’t know where she got the matches from, I just smelled the smoke coming from my bedroom only to find that my grandchild lit the chair in there and went out,” said Molefe.

They now stay in a back-room, EFF and Jozi@Work are busy cleaning the house and appeal to the community to help rebuild it.

” We are helping to clean up this house because all the furniture is gone. We have helped with a few household appliances and clothes until we get further help.

” We appeal with business people to help rebuild the house and the community to help in any way they can, especially clothes for children because they have nothing,” said Reuben Sedite, chairperson of EFF ward 13.

Molefe said she would appreciate any help she can get because she has nothing, including an ID.
