PGSS aims at producing 100% as promised

PGSS principal lauds the use of technology in Gauteng schools.

Protea Glen Secondary School aims at producing 100% they promised early this year.

The school which is having its third class of matriculants is eager at reaching their target.

Principal of the school, Joseph Mabaso said earlier this year: “We did not reach our target goal of 100% last year but nonetheless, we are happy that we have improved from the 82% that we obtained from the class of 2013.

“We are going to make sure that this year, we get nothing but 100%.”

PGSS has many strategies in ensuring that they reach their goal.

“The exams are progressing very well, we see a lot of commitment from the pupils and the teachers.

“They come in for revisions, we see them after school, on weekends and sometimes they even leave at night,” said Sweetness Radebe, life sciences teacher at PGSS.

Principal said that with all the strategies they have with committed pupils and teachers, all matriculants at the school will pass.

Technology at the school is also playing a role in ensuring that the goal of getting 100% pass rate this year is reached.

“The technology that we have at our paperless classrooms has also had an impact because it has made things easier for us,” said Radebe.

Last year, Protea Glen Secondary School obtained 94% matric pass rate.
