Neighbourhood watch aims to combat crime

The Klipspruit community is also tackling crime.

The Klipspruit Extension One community is ready to tackle crime through their newly formed neighbourhood watch.

Leaders of the neighbourhood watch met with Kliptown Police to secure a working relationship to actively fight crime.

“We are going to take our community back,” chairperson Derick Alexander said.

They met with residents who raised concerns on issues of safety and service delivery in the area.

Illegal dumping, street bashes and robberies are some of the issues residents want to eradicate.

Alexander encouraged youth to join the neighbourhood watch as they work throughout the night and need more people on their team.
