Police make arrests for stolen copper cable

The estimated street value of the stolen goods is R10 000.

Yesterday at about 7am the Eldorado Park police received information about the second hand dealer who is in possession of suspected stolen goods at Nancefield Industries, Eldorado Park.

Police proceeded to the scene and found copper in the premises.

The estimated street value is R10 000.

Three male suspects were arrested, two of them are 25-years of age and the elder one is 47-years of age.

Suspects are detained at Eldorado Park SAPS holding cells and will appear at court as soon as possible.

“We appeal to all community members to report any criminal activities to us.

“People should avoid buying suspected stolen properties and second hand dealers are expected to comply with the Second Hand Goods Act.

Theft of cables affect everyone in our communities (service providers and the consumers).

“There is a need to reduce this crime,” captain Philemon Khorombi says.
