A heated debate has erupted on social media following the emergence of another controversial painting involving President Jacob Zuma.
The painting titled “ spear down the throat” depicts Zuma and a wolf raping a black woman.
According to reports, the artist Ayanda Mbulu was trying to show how South Africa is being ‘raped’ by the government.
South Africans have taken to social media and expressed their views about the painting.
Some see it as being disrespectful to the president while some say it is just freedom of speech.
The depiction of the woman in the painting has been criticised by some, questioning what was the artist thinking especially in a country where rape is such a sensitive topic.
Below is some of the comments from a few tweeps:
Narratives re the latest #ZumaPainting are about freedom of speech vs Zuma's dignity. Mabulu gets away with using rape as a metaphor.

At least one of us has the guts to do something like this, maybe it's harsh but our government doesn't respond to due process! #ZumaPainting
