Update: Three men arrested in connection with Sophiatown murder
Sophiatown Community Patrol happy with progress on murder and house robbery case.
On Wednesday morning three men broke into the house of an elderly couple.
They stabbed the man to death at his house and strangled the woman who is still in hospital.
According to Sophiatown SAPS Warrant Officer Jerbes De Bruyn the men have not been charged yet.
“We are still investigating and finding more evidence.
“For now they have not been charged but are in custody,” said De Bruyn.
The Sophiatown Community Patrol was also notified on the arrests.
The chairman Dauw Steyn said he is happy upon the arrests.
“We are happy that the police are making progress.
“We hope that it cannot be repeated in our community,” said Steyn.
