Speeding driver kills man

The man died immediately, according to witnesses.

An elderly man was killed on Friday afternoon after being bumped by an alleged speeding motorist.

According to witnesses Garreth Boyce and Meshack Bond, the driver of a Polo skipped a red robot at the BP garage in Extension Three while the elderly man crossed the road.

“The man was bumped, his head hit the windscreen and flew high.

“By the time we got to him he was dead already,” Boyce said.

He landed in the street and Main Road was closed until his body was removed.

On lookers also became infuriated by what they perceived as unprofessional conduct by officials who attended to the deceased and said they would report it.
