Murdered officers to be laid to rest this weekend

Murdered police officers were decorated members of the force with 35 years experience between them.

Two of the deceased police officers who worked for the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit at the Moroka SAPS, were decorated members of the force.

Warrant officer Samuel Mchizama (50) and constable Solly Bumbjy Maluleke (40) were shot and killed in Dobsonville on September 9.

They were both stationed at Moroka Cluster.

According to information supplied by Moroka Cluster Police Station, Mchizama served the SAPS for 25 years.

He was married with three children.

Mchizama’s rank promotions and decorations include;

  • August 14, 1990 constable
  • July 1, 1995  sergeant
  • July 1, 2000 warrant officer

Decorations include;

  • August 12, 2000 received an SAPS Ten Year Loyal Service Medal
  • January 27, 2005 received an SAPS Ten Year Commemoration Medal 1995-2005

Police 1 Mchizama (Medium)

Maluleke worked for SAPS for a period of 10 years.

He was married with two children.

Maluleke’s rank promotions and decorations include;

  • January 10, 2005 student level I
  • July 7, 2005 student level II
  • January 16, 2006 student
  • February 1, 2007 constable

His decorations comprise of;

  • January 27, 2005 received an SAPS Ten Year Commemoration Medal 1995-2005
  • February 27, 2012 received an SAPS Ten Year Loyal Service Medal
  • August 31, 2012 received a Soccer World Cup 2010 Support Medal

Police 2 Maluleke (Medium)

Maluleke will be laid to rest in Giyani, Limpopo on Saturday and Mchizama in Kagiso, on the West Rand on Sunday.
