Police still in search of woman who dumped her baby

Moroka Police Station communications manager, Mpande Khoza, said they have a description of the woman who allegedly dumped her newborn baby in Chiawelo about two weeks ago.

Khoza said they are following up on information that could lead to her arrest.

“We are working with officials from both the Chiawelo Clinic and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital to check for records of recently pregnant women.

“We believe that the woman we are looking for is on the run,” said Khoza.

Khoza said the woman will be charged with concealment of birth and attempted murder.
