Fatal accident on Koma Road
Collision leads to deaths and injuries- police suspect drunk driving.
Police say they suspect that this may have been a case of drunk driving.
“The accident happened at around 5am where a Toyota Avanza and an Opel Corsa Gsi were involved in a collision.
“The people who died are those who were traveling in the Corsa and the others who were in the Avanza sustained injuries.
“We have heard that the people who were in the Corsa were from Ozone Pub in Moletsane, Soweto, and we suspect that the driver of the Corsa was drunk, but all that will be confirmed after medical information and police statements have been gathered.
“Currently we know that there are fatalities but we are not sure of how many people died.
“The injured have been sent to hospital and are in critical condition.
“The vehicles have been sent to Moroka Police Station and we are waiting for their next of kin to come fetch the cars to a safer place,” said John Serala, communications officer at Moroka Police Station.
