Police are investigating a case of attempted armed robbery which happened at Maponya Mall on Monday.
According to police reports, the incident happened at 9am when Coin security guards were about to load money to an ATM.
They saw two suspicious men approaching them with guns.
Security guards pulled out their guns and several shots were fired.
The two men fled and no injuries were reported.
Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng from the office of the provincial commissioner said, “No arrest have been made and we are still investigating. I urge anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the two men to come forward.
“Alternatively they can contact the police on 086 001 0111 or dial the crime line number which is 32211.”
