Naledi guns lead to pastor’s arrest

Guns found in Naledi and Alexandra linked to various crimes.

After the arrest of a 29-year-old woman in Naledi on Sunday afternoon, the police proceeded to Alexandra to make more arrests.

The woman was arrested after police discovered a total of five pistols, five revolvers, one short gun, nine holsters, 22 expensive wrist watches, 224 live ammunition and more than 100 bullets in her backroom.

“The goods that we found in Naledi were linked to other crimes in Alexandra where we also discovered three short guns, three live rounds of pistols, 58 wrist watches, 11 ammunition of short guns and three digital cameras,” said General Fred Kekana.

The goods found in Alexandra led to a pastor being arrested and some of the guns found there are linked to other cases.

Two of the guns found in Alex are linked with a house robbery in Sandton while out of the 11 firearms found in Naledi, three of them are linked with robbery in Florida.

“We are still checking the other guns but from the ones found in Naledi, one of them is linked to a theft in Delmas, another one in Alberton, one in Pretoria and three in Florida,” said General Kekana.

Further investigations are still underway as the police think that all the guns found are linked to some sort of crime.

The woman who was arrested is still under custody while her boyfriend is still on the run and the police are looking for him.
