Women across South Africa are in for a treat next month.

Women across South Africa are in for a treat next month, with a jam packed programme filled with fashion, film and other exciting events.

Outlining the programme for Women’s Month at the Union Buildings, on Thursday, Women Minister Susan Shabangu said the first week of Women’s Month will focus on women in fashion, while the second week will celebrate women in film.

The third week will focus on the fight against human trafficking and labour exploitation of women, leaving the fourth week to look at women’s financial inclusion in the economy and all sectors of the country.

Women’s month will be celebrated on 9 August in Sasolburg, Free State.

This year, Women’s month will celebrate women achievers and their participation in the economy.

Minister Shabangu also launched the department’s online radio which will be accessible through the media room menu item on the Department of Women’s website.

“The radio will be running continuously and can be accessed anytime from today. The online radio will feature speeches, interviews, and media statements relevant to the work of the department,” she said.

The content will be continuously refreshed to cover the emerging work of the department.

The department also launched its social media platforms such as the Department Of Women You Tube channel, Instagram and Google plus. – SAnews.gov.za
