Kasi career expo exposes pupils to unconventional careers

Professionals share their experiences with pupils.

The Kasi Career Expo is underway at the Diepkloof Hall.

Pupils from Emadwaleni Secondary School and Fideletas Secondary School have graced the event.

Various higher educational institutions and companies are offering career guidance and mentorship.

Professionals from different fields such as doctors and pilots have been invited to share their experiences with pupils.

France Mashawo CEO of Wise Communications which put together the expo said, “The main purpose of this is to give pupils a direct access to various industries in the private sector and government. We want to provide them with a platform that can open doors to their future.”

The expo is focused at exposing pupils at unconventional careers which are still not popular with black people.

Government departments and agencies such as the NYDA have embraced the initiative.

Theirs is to share information about available bursaries that pupils can apply for.

The expo has been to KZN and next week it will be in the North West.
