Pupils encouraged to read

Grade Two teachers were presented with two mini libraries.

Grade Two pupils from Parkdale Primary School got a surprise from a non-profit organisation called Read To Rise.

They arrived with 30 volunteers from Mutual and Federal and boxes filled with reading material.

Pupils first listened to a story told by Read To Rise.

After an interactive story session each pupil received a copy of the book called Oaky and the Sun .

They were thrilled for receiving their own reading books.

Volunteers from Mutual and Federal also read to pupils.

Grade Two teachers were presented with two mini libraries.

“What an exhilarating day it was,” Eden Daniels deputy principal said.

Parkdale Primary School wishes to thank these two organisations for this amazing initiative.
