Dead body discovered near shopping mall

A dead body with a bullet wound to the chest was discovered on Sunday morning at a drainage ditch between Roodepoort Cemetery and Dobsonville Shopping Mall.

Dobsonville police communications officer Mzwakhe Xazi confirmed that the deceased was identified as a resident from Bramfischer Phase One.

“He is aged 21-years-old.

“We still do not know the motive but police are investigating a murder case,” he said.

He said the family has been informed of this incident, and no arrests have been made as yet.

In a separate incident, a taxi driver was found dead in his minibus at Elias Motsoaledi Road next to the Engen Garage near Tshepo-Themba.

The man had a gun shot wound and is believed to have been killed late Friday evening or in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police are investigating a case of murder, and no arrests have been made made.
