Gauteng youth celebrate their month

12 Day celebration for the youth of Gauteng.

Since June 4, the Gauteng Province has had Youth Month celebrations in commemoration of those who died on June 16, 1976, while empowering the youth of today.

The 12 day programme held at Nasrec Expo Centre, had a lot of activities for the youth, such as the youth parade where the youth went to Mofolo Park and paraded to Hector Pieterson Memorial.

There were also dialogues on entrepreneurship and innovations that dwelled on improving entrepreneurship and innovation among young people.

Another dialogue was on challenges and opportunities for young people where its main objective was coming up with plans to improve transport and logistics infrastructure and how young people access opportunities.

The youth was also motivated not be involved in crime through Pillar to Post Drama.

Young South Africans were exposed to broadcasting at the workshop that took part on June 14 where well known Gauteng’s radio station and the country’s broadcasting commission were present.

Today, the 12 day event will close with the Big Walk and a closing concert where they will be a lot of entertainment from South Africa’s well known artists.
